Beautiful English Military Mahogany Campaign Chest with Secrétaire Fall Front. The chest features its original Campaign inset brass drop handles, brass corner protectors, and brass strap-work to the frame.
The chest splits into two very manageable sections for ease of transportation.
The top section has the appearance of drawers but has a fold-down front to reveal a large mahogany surface area. The fall front can serve many uses such as a desk or a bar.
The bottom section is raised on carved legs and has 2 drawers underneath with plenty of storage.

Campaign chests and furniture such as this one were traditionally constructed from mahogany or teak because these woods had the advantage of only minimally expanding and contracting when exposed to extremes in temperature and humidity, mahogany and teak are also very resilient and resistant to infestation from woodworm, termites, etc.
